Hewitt Foundation | Flowers

Flowers are pretty and can brighten anyone’s day. The Hewitt Foundation recently had the opportunity to brighten the day for two different ladies in the community this week. Both of these ladies experienced the anniversary date of their husband going to be with Jesus in Heaven. This is a day that is extremely hard to get through. It’s a day that marks the moment that their life would change as they became unexpected widows. The purpose of the flowers wasn’t to make the pain go away or meet a need, but it was just to send a smile to say that we haven’t forgotten and will always pray for their broken heart.

Speaking personally, as we (Crystal and Craig) have been on our journey of losing Parker and Haley, the biggest thing that can send us a smile is someone who doesn’t forget. Who doesn’t forget the life of Parker and Haley, who doesn’t forget that we are still hurting, who doesn’t forget that our family is not complete without them here and who doesn’t forget to continually pray for our hearts. This is what the Hewitt Foundation wanted these special ladies to know through the simple note and flowers. We haven’t forgotten, we know you are hurting, we know you aren’t complete and we are praying for you. So thankful we have our Jesus to cling to on days like this. So thankful for His promise that we WILL see them again.

One of the wives wrote and said, “Many people think we get over things and move on, but we carry the ones we love with us everyday and long to be with them again.” This is so perfectly said.
The other wife told me just how God worked through the flowers. She had taken off the day from work on the anniversary day and was walking around the house thinking of what all she needed to do and one of them was realizing that the front urns needed life restored. She just said how awesome that God hears all of our prayers. One thing is for sure, God is hearing all of our prayers, big and small and more importantly, He cares and He is there for us always no matter what we go through.
