The Hewitt Foundation donated 105 Build-A-Bear stuffed animals to Brennen Elementary for students who were effected by the floods in South Carolina. The Principal, Mark Shea, and the Guidance Counselors, Erica Mitchell & Diane Ryan, will meet with those students effected and present them with a stuffed animal to love and call their own. Special thanks to Brennen Elementary PTO 1st Vice President, Townes Denemark, for her coordinating efforts on this special project.

South Carolina experienced a “1000 year flood” on October 5th that lasted several days. Thousands of families lost EVERYTHING. Homes were destroyed, families had to evacuate immediately, total devastation occurred everywhere in Columbia, SC. Through several contacts with churches and shelters, the Hewitt Foundation was able to speak with Brennen Elementary about donating 105 Build-A-Bear stuffed animals to the students impacted from the flood. The school accepted the generosity of the Hewitt Foundation and the stuffed animals will soon be delivered to the Guidance Counselors and Principal for distribution to the students.

The entire community is invited out to Crooked Creek Park on 6/27/15 for the 3rd Annual Hewitt 5K. This event is in memory of our two children, Parker and Haley Hewitt, who went to be with Jesus on 6/29/09. The proceeds from this event go towards the Hewitt Foundation.

To register for the event please head over to www.strictlyrunning.com. You can select to RUN or WALK the event. All ages are encouraged to attend. From kids to parents to experienced runners to the casual walker. It’s an event everyone can enjoy all while supporting a great cause.

Here is a video of last year’s event.

We want the 3rd year to be just as packed (if not more) than last year!  Looking forward to seeing everyone there! Please share this event and tell all of your friends about it!

If you can’t make it out to the Hewitt 5K but would like to help out and make a contribution to the Hewitt Foundation, we would greatly appreciate it. Any monetary donation is welcome.
